Freelance contributor, CBC Radio, B.C., February 2015-Present Contribute live interviews and audio tape to CBC Radio on a freelance basis, working remotely with news teams around B.C.

Senior Reporter, Northeast News, Dawson Creek, B.C., February 2015-February 2016 Work with very little direction, researching and producing high quality regional news stories focusing on all aspects of local news from health care to politics to arts. I accompany these stories with photographs I shoot and process, and I lay out pages using InDesign.

Programming intern, JazzRadio, Berlin, Germany, October 2014-January 2015 Assisted with programming duties of a 24 hour Jazz radio station in Berlin, Germany. Worked independently with on-air broadcasting software. Contributed ideas and wrote content for website.

Head writer, TRIM magazine, Vancouver, B.C., August 2011-September 2014 Combining interviews and research, I created both long and short form feature stories for an art-focused online magazine. My piece on illustrator Janice Wu, whose art has been seen in The Walrus, was called “thorough and sparkling” by the creator of The Duchess art blog. I edited general content, and collaborated with the creative director on the overall look of the magazine.

Reporter/photographer, The Star and The Edge, Wainwright, AB, May 30 2013-August 27 2013 Sourced, reported and photographed community news. Worked independently to produce stories for two deadlines per week, which I consistently met. Established relationships with community members. Worked in a team to produce finished newspapers, using InDesign and Photoshop to prepare pages for print. Copy-edited others’ work.

Intern, The Georgia Straight, Vancouver, B.C., March 11 2013-April 12 2013 Worked closely with section editors to produce music and arts stories for a weekly publication and website. Interviewed artists, reviewed records and concerts, wrote successfully to the style of the paper. Met deadlines consistently and received feedback constructively. The five-week internship was successful.


The Peace Connective, Fall 2015-Spring 2016 Produced a literary magazine from concept to publication, with contributions from writers based in the Peace region in northeast B.C.

Writing on art, 2014 In collaboration with Institut für Alles Mögliche art institute in Berlin, produced a series of photos of Berlin artists accompanied with creatively interpreted interviews which I conducted. The project was published online.
